Thanksgiving

I guess blogs are coolest if you update them periodically.

Thanksgiving of '08 was one for the ages. We had a Thanksgiving dinner at the Smiths the Sunday before and on Thanksgiving we had dinner at the Stobbes. I've always said that if there is anything better than Thanksgiving, it's two Thanksgivings. At the Smiths we brought sweet potatoes that Jamie made. REALLY YUMMY. At the Stobbes, Jamie made two apple pies from scratch-ish. They were fantastic. I think that the apple peeling that I did really well, made the pies, I mean you could really taste the love I put into the peeling process. Grandma's stuffing was my highlight, Uncle A made some awesome mashed potatoes too. Everyone made wonderful contributions at both of our dinners.

After dinner we jetted down to Southern Utah to catch up with the Smiths and Broughs at Zions Ponderosa Ranch. There was a little snow but other than that, the weather was great. Our activities at the Ranch included a few hikes that the kids and I went on, skeet shooting, shopping by the ladies, movie watching, and we visited Jacob Hamblin's home in Santa Clara.

One thing we decided to do was hook papa up with a facebook page and blog. He was excited to get a couple people that wanted to be his "friends". He did say that he planned on "BLOCKING" pretty much everyone that asked to be his friends.

George also hit a deer in his truck on the way to the Ranch. It was one of the biggest deer I have seen. It was five point. It tore off the left molding of his fender and dented the hood, fender and grille.

It was a great trip, the weekend was awesome.

Halloween!
We went to "Boo at the Zoo" a few days before the actual Halloween. Mom made pancakes that looked like pumpkins. The only difficult part of the day was keeping Cam in a costume. He scares himself or something. Porters plans for costumes changed as much as the wind blew. Off the top of my head, he wanted to be a werewolf, Frankenstein, Vampire, wolverine (the animal not the X man), mummy, and there were about two dozen or so more that I can't remember. Cam wanted to be the "Sweetroller". We weren't sure what that meant until one day when we were watching t.v. and he saw a commercial about baking sweetrolls. Apparently the "Sweetroller" is the Pillsbury Dough Boy. He ended up being a turtle or a tiger, depending on which activity it was. Jamie was a Princess. She didn't dress up like one, she just was.

Happy Birthday Tanner

It was my birthday yesterday. Jamie, Porter and Cameron worked really hard on the above drawings and made it into a card for me. They surprised me with breakfast, and I had an awesome dinner that Jamie made for me. It was a good day. Now I'm 30 years old.

New Cat

So we got a new cat. We don't have a name for her yet, Cameron calls her "Jinxy", Porter calls her "Sprinkles", and Jamie and I call her "Cat". We got her on September 13th. According to her papers, she was born on 04/14/2008. So she's 5 months old right now. If you think of a good name, let us know. Her toys that she really enjoys include a little red ball with sparkles coming out of it (see the photos), and other balls and things that Porter and Cam throw.
Right now, she sleeps in the garage, and spends all day in the house. By the house, I mean she never leaves my office. She usually tries to climb on my lap, but occasionally she'll chase the cursor on the screen. She'll eventually stay outside if I get my way.
